Here at Montrêux Golf & Country Club we are constantly changing and improving ourselves, not only as a golf club, but also as a fitness center and as a restaurant. As a member-owned club, the happiness and satisfaction of our members comes first! One of our bigger focuses for this year is making dining experience even better through new programs, creative menus and dishes, and anywhere else we can improve.
When it comes to where our members chose to dine, we want to make sure we are always the number one choice. We made many improvements to club dining in 2020, including promoting Scotty Bournival to Executive Chef as well as introducing David Medina as our new Director of Food & Beverage. David and Scotty have worked tirelessly throughout the last few months to improve to the food and beverage side of the Montrêux membership experience.
One of the first changes made to club dining is how we serve coffee. David and his team are proud to introduce a brand-new coffee program for 2021 which includes a new roast from Alpen Sierra as well as a new high-quality espresso machine. We are excited to offer our members not only a delicious cup of coffee, but also espresso, cappuccinos, and lattes.
“Can you say ‘David Rio Chai Latte’? Our finest luxurious latte, hands down. Local roaster Alpen Sierra is providing us with the best coffee and tea options in Northern Nevada. So far, members have raved about our new espresso machine and our delicious Fair Trade Peruvian drip coffee.”
– David Medina, Food & Beverage Director
In 2020 we introduced pizzas to our menus at the Club with our fabulous wood-fire, brick pizza oven. While the idea worked for the busy summer season, we knew we could improve on it and make it even better. With the inclusion of a new pizza oven in the kitchen, Scotty and his team are now able to serve our members high-quality, made from scratch pizza. Some of our favorites include the classico made with as well as the BBQ chicken pizza. Be sure to ask your server about Chef’s Pie! Each week Chef Scotty will be making an exclusive pizza only available for a limited time.
One of our biggest changes to our club dining experience has been the addition of new items to our menus. The new menus feature multiple dishes that we really believe let Chef Scotty show his magic in the kitchen. Crowd favorites so far have been the ahi poke tower, the pork belly char siu, and Tasmanian honey glazed duck breast.
Our dinner menu has completely transformed under our American Neighborhood Bistro theme. We also have an exceptional bar menu with great Happy Hour pricing. Do not forget to call-in for one of our new artisan scratch pizzas! – David Medina, Food & Beverage Director
The changes do not just stop at food. In the upcoming months you will see lots of new additions to our wine list. We have always leaned heavily towards California, but our new menu will feature wines from all around the world. We will also be launching a bourbon club soon so please stay tuned for that.
We are only a few weeks into the roll out of these changes, but we have received lots of amazing feedback so far, and we’re excited for even more of our members to experience them in the upcoming weeks! Swing into the Clubhouse this week for breaks, lunch, or dinner. We are open Wednesday – Friday from 8 am – 9 pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 9 am – 9 pm. See you soon!
