Asphalt Roadway Maintenance

Commencing Monday, May 7, Intermountain Contractors will start crack fill repair on all asphalt roadways in Montreux. This process should take approximately one week and should not cause excessive traffic delays or detours. Intermountain will provide the necessary traffic control personnel and signage for this project. Please use caution as there will be slow moving equipment and pedestrian workmen on the roadways. Street Sweeping

Throughout the day on Friday May 4th, and Monday May 7th, street sweeping will be coducted on all roadways in the Montreux Community. Although traffic should not adversely be affected, please use caution as the sweeper does travel at slower speeds and makes numerous turns during this operaton. If possible, it is recommended to park your personal vehicles off the street so all curb areas can be swept. Thank you for your cooperation. Montrêux Security maintains contact information for all our residents which includes: phone numbers (residence, business, cell), emergency contacts, e-mail addresses, and the names of household members, guest authorization lists, etc. You provided this information to Security when you originally moved to the Montrêux Community with a Homeowner Data Sheet. We safeguard and keep this information confidential and use it only to contact you if necessary or verify guest status or entry. We encourage residents to periodically review the information that Security has on file and make changes & updates as necessary. Copies of your data may be obtained at the gatehouse or, if you prefer, you may contact the Gatehouse (775-849-9780 or security1@mtxhoa.com) and receive a copy of your datasheet by fax or e-mail for your review. Staying informed with timely and accurate information in community emergencies is essential for the safety of your family and the protection of your property. In the event of civil emergencies or natural disasters, Washoe County uses a “reverse 911” system to advise households of critical information related to evacuation and incident status. The reverse 911 system is a function of AT&T and utilizes your land-line to notify your household of updates via a recorded message. If you exclusively use a cell service, bundled cable or internet for your phone service, you may not receive these notifications. Washoe County has provided a website where you can provide contact information and you will receive notifications through the various electronic media of your choice. By logging onto www.readywashoe.com and following the links, you can enter your contact information on the community sign-up page and receive current data and status conditions via e-mail / text on your smart phone, traditional e-mail, voicemail and any land-line or cell number regardless of provider. This will allow you to retrieve information regardless of your location or circumstance.

Winter Storm Advisory

Good morning Montrêux!

With this recent winter storm, Montrêux has received approximately 5” of new snow on the roadways. Snow removal has been working to clear the roads within the community. As always we would like to remind all residents and visitors to drive cautiously as the roads remain very slick. Please watch for snow removal equipment and crews throughout the day as they continue to widen roadways and clear driveways. If you have questions or concerns regarding snow removal process, please contact property Manager Mike Joseph.

Street Sign Refurbishing

Several street signs within the Montreux community will be temporarily removed from the sign posts for refurbishing and maintenance. This process should only take a couple of days and they should be put back in place within a week. If you notice a sign missing it is due to this maintenance issue. Washoe Drive Fire

On 1-19-12 the National Weather Service issued a Red Flag and extreme fire danger warning for Washoe County and the surrounding areas due to very high winds and the dry conditions in the area. At approximately 1:20 pm a brushfire (origin under investigation) started in the vicinity of Washoe Lake and Old Washoe City. Heavy amounts of smoke was visible to the south from the Montreux Community. Due to the high winds and dry conditions the fire quickly spread in a northerly direction. As a precaution, at 2:45 pm fire officials issued a voluntary evacuation order for the St. James, Galena, Montreux, and Callahan Ranch Communities. In cooperation with the Sierra Fire Protection District, Montreux Security opened all perimeter evacuation gates in Montreux and monitored the situation. Montreux Clubhouse General Manager Lisa Anderson and staff posted condition and evacuation updates on the Montreux Website, Montreuxgolf.com, Facebook, and email databases. The fire continued to spread in a northerly direction along the SR 395 corridor through Washoe Valley and Pleasant Valley areas. With a reported 360 firefighters on scene from the surrounding communities and California and the reduction in wind, officials declared that the progress of the fire stopped south of the SR 431 and 395 Junction.at approximately 9:00 pm and the situation stabilized. Fire officials reported that approximately 3,700 acres had burned and 20 homes destroyed. The voluntary evacuation order was lifted for Montreux and the surrounding communities at 9:30 pm and residents were advised that they could return to their homes. The Montreux Community received no property damage of any kind and no injuries were sustained. There was a brief power outage from 8:40 pm to 9:00 pm. Montreux Scurity received approximately 340 calls from individuals and residents regarding evacuation and fire updates during the afternoon and evening hours of this event. Montreux Security and the HOA Board would like to thank the Montreux Community for their calm, patience, and cooperation during this time. Winter Notice / Advisory

To our residents and guests of Montrêux,

Due to the unusually dry conditions, the Montrêux H.O.A. and the contracted Landscaping Company have agreed that it is in the best interest of preserving the vegetation / plant life / etc., to temporarily activate the irrigation systems in designated areas so we can provide the necessary water during this dry spell and prevent loss of landscaping.

Please use caution in the areas where overspray is possible on roadways and walking paths. As the weather cools in the evenings and nights, these over sprayed areas may freeze and become quite slippery.

As always, we appreciate your cooperation and have your safety and best interest in mind.

Bordeaux Dr. Road Maintenance

Weather permitting, the Washoe County Public Works Dept. has plans to resurface Bordeax Dr. comencing Monday, October 31. The project involves the county maintained portion of the roadway from Mt. Rose Highway to the cul de sac at the entrance to Montreux. Although the project is not within Montreux proper, it will affect traffic entering and exiting the community. County crews will have traffiic control devices and pesonnel present to minimize traffic delays and inconvenience. Please be alert and use caution when approaching the affected area. Washoe County Sewer Maintenance

The Washoe County Utility Dept. will have sewer maintenance crews on property cleaning sewer and storm drains prior to the winter season. They will be on property through Aug. 25 and should have very little effect on traffic in our community. They will be using a large vacuum truck with flashers and a trailing vehicle with traffic control personnel. The county advises that you may experience a slight odor coming from your drains and to simply flush your drains with clear water and the temporary odor will dissipate.

Evacuation Drill

On Saturday, April 30th, 2011 between 09:30 and 11:30 a.m., the Sierra Fire Protection District (S.F.P.D) will be conducting a simulated or practice evacuation exercise for the Galena Forest and surrounding subdivisions.

An evacuation route has been established by S.F.P.D. through the Montrêux subdivision. A portion of residents from the Galena subdivision will evacuate via the Alpes Way auxiliary access gate to Bordeaux Drive and exit directly to the De Chardin or Bordeaux Ct. emergency gates. Personnel from the S.F.P.D. and Montrêux Security will assist in directing evacuees during this practice exercise through the Montrêux community using the planned evacuation route. Every effort will be made not to disturb or inconvenience Montrêux residents in any way. Montrêux residents will receive a recorded evacuation notice on the Washoe County reverse 911 telephone system. You are reminded that this is just a drill and your participation is strictly voluntary.

Participation, planning, and cooperation of the Montrêux subdivision with the surrounding community and emergency response agencies enhance our safety and helps protect the beautiful area in which we live. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding during this brief exercise.

Road Repairs

Commencing May 5th 2011, the Montrêux community will begin the process of street and curb repairing, followed by a slurry seal. This process will begin with general curb repair/replacement on May 5th & May 6th.

Atlas contractors will arrive on Monday May 9th to begin the process of repairing roads within the community. Atlas will provide for traffic control and caution signage during the operation. As there are some areas that will need removal and replacement of asphalt, we want to remind residents, members and all guests to drive with an extended awareness and caution. The following streets are the main areas of focus for this patch project, but may be done in random order:

Lausanne (west of Salute)
Bordeaux Drive (Between Lake Geneva & Strasbourg)
Bordeaux Drive (intersection of Bordeaux & Champetre)
Northbound Lane of Bordeaux Drive (Section from De Chardin to in front of driving range)
Rouge Way (Service/Construction Road)

Slurry sealing will begin the week of May 23rd, 2011. This process will begin in Renaissance and move to various roads throughout the rest of the Montrêux community.
